Dr. Kulwant Kaur has been in the education field for the past 26 years. She first joined the education fraternity when she received her posting as a school teacher in a government school in Kuala Lumpur in 1994. She then joined IIUM in 2007. Currently, she teaches English Proficiency courses for pre-sessional students at Centre of Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD). She also teaches English for Academic Writing (EAW). Apart from these, she has taught Business English, Technical English and English for Law courses. She has also been a trainer for Skim Latihan 1 Malaysia (SLIM) programme. . She has held administrative positions in schools as the Head of the English Language Panel, in IIUM as a Course Coordinator, Testing and Measurement Unit Assistant Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and Testing and Measurement Unit Representative. To nourish her insatiable passion for teaching, research and publication, she has published academic articles in national and international journals and a book. Her research interest include English as A Second Language (ESL) and Teaching Methodology. Experience has taught her to build strong relationships with her superiors, colleagues, staff and students to foster a pleasant working environment. She believes that it is utmost important to strive to attain camaraderie and togetherness in an organisation. It gives her immense pleasure to offer her services in the most diligent and conscientious manner. She believes in going the extra mile to ensure the smooth-running of activities she is involved in as well as to determine students’ success.
